Once again Dance4life is looking to recruit schools and colleges for the exiting UK tour that will take place from the 3rd to the 21st of November 2008.
Dance4Life aims to inspire, mobilise and unify young people to respond to the HIV and AIDS pandemic.
In order to do that a trained tour team will visit all participating schools and colleges leading an interactive and informative 2 hour workshop. The workshops are delivered in a funky, energetic, breathtaking and moving way, using dance (the Dance4Life Drill), music, video, HIV peer educators, young people living with HIV and real life stories from the global south.
The purpose of the workshops are to:
- introduce Dance4Life and its issues to young people creating initial awareness for HIV and AIDS, discrimination and prevention.
- to increase the understanding of the global impact of HIV and AIDS through the sharing of personal experiences of young people from developing countries. - waking young people up to their own role and responsibility with regards to the issue of HIV and AIDS - inspiring and stimulating young people into ongoing participation in Dance4Life’s further activities (raising awareness, fundraising, campaigning)
For the 2008 tour we aim to recruit approximately 30 schools and colleges around the UK on a first comes first served basis. The free of charge workshops are aimed at an audience of approximately 150 to 300 students aged 16 and above.
