Create a TAG group

What is a TAG?

A TAG is a Taking Action Group. This is where you, your friends and other agents4change in your school or youth group get together to take action with dance4life throughout the year, and especially around World AIDS Day.

There are usually 5-8 agents4change in a TAG. You’ll be supported by a teacher / youth group worker and a dance4life Development Trainer (if there’s one available nearby). It’s a great way to get together to make sure your actions make even more of a difference. For more information on TAGs and taking action contact the Youth Engagement Officer.

Getting started

Here’s some tips to get your TAG up and running.

  1. Speak to your friends, and other people who got excited about dance4life. They might not have heard about starting a TAG yet, so let them know why it’s a great idea.
  2. Once a couple of friends are interested form your own TAG. Why not get the support of your teacher or youth group leader? They might be able to provide you with some time and space to meet, and help you with ideas.
  3. Be sure to tell our Youth Engagement Officer who will link you up with a Development Trainer, another young person who can support you to take action.
  4. Arrange a meeting. It’s a good idea to have it at a regular time and place, so it’s easy for everyone to remember. In this meeting you can spend some time creating exciting ways to take action on HIV and AIDS. Why not check out our how to guides for ideas of how to take action or fundraise. You might want to draw up an agenda.
  5. TAKE ACTION! You’ve got a TAG, you’ve got a plan. Now start taking action.

Remember, our Youth Engagement Officer is here to help you take action, so if you ever need any help or support, be sure to get in touch.
