Europe
Dance4Life has several countries involved in Europe. They include Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, and of course, the United Kingdom!
Germany was the second European country to join Dance4Life, with Bremen being the first German city to adopt the Dance4Life project.
In 2007 the Life Skills programme is planned to go to other German cities such as Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Hannover. In total it is hoped that 50 schools will become involved!
Ireland has joined Dance4Life! The pilot project introduced the concept to the country in 2006 by working with schools and youth groups in Dublin and Cork, with 500 youth participating.
It is hoped that a Life Skills programme will be developed and taken to the schools that participated in 2006, and that more schools will be involved in the Schools Projects in 2007.
The Netherlands, together with South Africa and Indonesia, officially launched Dance4Life in the spring of 2004.
A staggering 45,000 children at 50 schools participated in the
2006 Dance4Life Schools Project in the Netherlands. They were joined by teachers, artists, companies and many volunteers who all want to be part of Dance4Life!
Moldova Dance4Life Moldova was started in record time, and in November 2007 they started the Heart Connection Tour, in an incredible 100 schools; holded Act4Life activities; and a Dance4Life Event on 24 November, one week before World AIDS Day. The lauch of Dance4Life in Moldova has created quite a stir in the media, with Dance4Life being described as "an unusual way to inform young people about HIV and AIDS".
Serbia One of the potential new Dance4Life countries to start up in 2007 is Serbia. Dance4Life International are currently working on the setting-up of Dance4Life Serbia, more information will follow in the coming months.
