Dance4Life UK hit the stage at the world famous Glastonbury Music Festival !

27-06-2008

For the first time ever, Dance4Life UK was launched at the world renowned Glastonbury music festival.

BRIT school students, after Dance4Life’s visit to the school back in November, decided to bring Dance4Life to the stage, and use their creativity and drive to promote HIV and AIDS activism.

One of the performing BRIT students said:

We are proud to be working with Dance4Life to raise awareness in the global struggle in support of the victims of HIV and AIDS.”

The event took place in the Leftfield Tent at Glastonbury on Friday 27th June, 2pm – 6pm. The BRIT School and Dance4Life’s line up at Glastonbury included Red Zebra, Matisse and ex-students Tawiah, supported by Blue and Jodie, plus Dockers MC and Charlene Soria. The afternoon saw students on stage performing and raising awareness of Dance4Life and HIV and AIDS.

The 4 hour show looked really good with some brilliant performances by the bands and the whole event was made cohesive by the visuals and short films which the BRIT film students put together. Theatre students added to the atmosphere by reading out facts about HIV and AIDS and Dance4life. BRIT school students were crewing the Leftfield stage, filming and providing visuals throughout the festival. The crowds were motivated and numbers varied between 400 and 5000!
