Support peer-led sex ed
October 25, 2011As you know, dance4life workshops and skills4life sessions are all led by young people. When young people deliver sessions to people their own age, they’re described as being peer-led, or peer-to-peer.
Now dance4life is supporting a new campaign to introduce peer-to-peer sex education in schools around the country, and Channel 4 are involved too!
The Channel 4 programme Battlefront supports young campaigners to change the world. This year one of their campaigners, Shereece, is pushing for peer-led sex education to be recognised as part of the national curriculum. As she says, “It’s a way to get facts you need to protect yourself without the cringe…”
To support the campaign, all you have to do is go to bit.ly/d4lshereece where you can find out more and sign her petition.
And don’t forget to tell Rach that you’ve taken action. Email rach@restlessdevelopment.org, tell her on her Facebook or just use the form at the bottom of the Taking Action page.
